Your Wellcore clinician will discuss your medical history, goals, blood work, current symptoms and make a determination on whether or not our hormone optimization program is a good fit for you.
If medications are ordered, you will receive an email with a link to pay for the 2-3 month supply of medication. Be sure to check your spam folder. Once you submit your payment, the prescriptions are released to the pharmacy. Medication should arrive to you within 7-10 business days.
No, you should still have a primary care physician to address any acute issues or concerns. We will alert you if we believe you need to follow up with your PCP for any abnormalities that we see in your blood work or history that may require further investigation.

You will receive Wellcore’s practically painless at-home blood collection device about 45 days after your payment has been processed. Please draw your blood sample and send it back about 8 weeks after starting your most recent supply of medication. After your blood sample has been analyzed by our lab, you will receive an email to schedule a video consultation to review your lab results and refill your medication. It is important that you complete this follow-up process in a timely manner to avoid any delays in refilling your medication.
Although most men choose to continue testosterone once they have started (due to the benefits in how they feel), you can stop it whenever you’d like. If you stop testosterone injections, we recommend continuing to take clomiphene for 3 months to speed up the return to age appropriate baseline testicular function and mitigate the potential for low testosterone symptoms.

Wellcore’s top priority is providing safe and effective treatments that increase testosterone levels. We achieve this by continually monitoring up to 24 different biomarkers with a convenient, practically painless, at home, whole blood collection device. These biomarkers consist of all seven sex hormones, including free testosterone. Free testosterone is one of the most important analytes to monitor because it is the unbound, active form of testosterone that actually creates the physiological benefits of increasing one’s testosterone levels. We also assess cholesterol levels, kidney, and liver function. Also, Wellcore uses a practically painless, auto-injector device to administer testosterone injections. These injections allow us to use a smaller, shorter needle. With the reusable auto-injector device, one doesn’t have to jab themselves with a needle. The device does all the work with the push of a button.
Injecting testosterone causes a reduction in sperm production while one is on testosterone. Being on exogenous testosterone for an extended period of time can cause infertility. If you are concerned about your sperm count/fertility or may want to have children in the future, we do not recommend taking testosterone in any form. In this case, we recommend using the medication clomiphene to increase your testosterone levels which will maintain and often increase your sperm count/fertility. Clomiphene stimulates the brain to increase the hormones (LH and FSH) that are responsible for producing sperm and testosterone in the testes.
A majority of clinical studies do NOT demonstrate an increase in the risk of prostate cancer. In fact, some demonstrate a reduced risk of prostate cancer the longer one is on medication to increase their testosterone levels. In the studies where participants developed prostate cancer, it was of a lesser severity than those in the group of participants that were not on testosterone. Furthermore, there are studies that demonstrate an association between low testosterone levels and an increased risk of prostate cancer. The TRAVERSE trial, published in The New England Journal of Medicine in June of 2023, is the largest, randomized controlled trial to date, assessing the relationship between testosterone replacement therapy and prostate cancer. The results demonstrated no increase in the risk of prostate cancer.
The TRAVERSE trial, published in The New England Journal of Medicine in June of 2023, is the most important clinical trial to date assessing the relationship between testosterone replacement therapy and the risk of having a cardiovascular event like a heart attack, stroke, or blood clot. The results showed that testosterone therapy did not increase or decrease the risk of cardiovascular events.This study supports the majority of clinical trials in the past 20-30 years that demonstrate that testosterone replacement therapy at physiologic doses does not increase the risk of a heart attack, stroke, or blood clot. In fact, a majority of the studies demonstrate if you have low testosterone, you are at an increased risk of a cardiovascular event. If you have a genetic predisposition to forming a blood clot prior to starting medication that increases your testosterone levels, you could be at an increased risk of having a blood clot while on these medications. Studies have shown that you are NOT more likely to have a blood clot on testosterone if you never had one before starting testosterone.
A majority of the clinical trials assessing the relationship between testosterone replacement therapy and blood pressure demonstrate a reduction in blood pressure after being on testosterone for 12 months or more. The longer one is on testosterone, the more visceral fat and inflammation are reduced, which leads to a reduction in blood pressure. Because high blood pressure is one of the biggest driver’s of cardiovascular disease, which is the number one killer of people globally, we require that you monitor your blood pressure at least twice per week while on our program and input your numbers into your Wellcore Dashboard. Blood pressure should always be checked after being in a seated, rested state, for at least 5 minutes, with your arm at heart level, legs uncrossed and set relaxed on the floor. If after daily monitoring for 2 weeks, your average blood pressure readings are consistently above 140/90 mmHg, please inform your Client Success team.
No, the concern that elevated hemoglobin and hematocrit levels can cause a heart attack, stroke, or blood clot comes from the hematology literature. In this literature, patients with an elevated hemoglobin and hematocrit AND polycythemia vera (a type of blood cancer), had more heart attacks, strokes, and blood clots. Having a high hemoglobin and hematocrit while on testosterone is NOT the same as having a high hemoglobin and hematocrit from polycythemia vera (a type of blood cancer). To date, there are no randomized controlled trials (which are the best studies in medicine) demonstrating that an elevated hemoglobin and hematocrit level while being on testosterone, increases one’s risk of a heart attack, stroke, or blood clot.
Increasing testosterone levels also increases a hormone called DHT. In those that are genetically predisposed, this can cause or worsen hair loss on the scalp. If you have or have had hair loss on the scalp, we recommend you start a hair regrowth cream or take a daily capsule at the time that you start medication that increases testosterone. These medications have been shown to be effective at reducing loss of hair on the scalp while on medications that increase levels of testosterone.
Increasing testosterone levels will increase oil production in the skin. For some, this can create or worsen acne on the face, chest, back, or shoulders. If you currently have or have had moderate to severe acne as a teenager, we recommend you wash your face, chest, back, and shoulders well with soap and water at least once per day. In addition to this, we can prescribe you a topical cream to treat any acne that may arise.
The doses of medication that your clinician will prescribe very rarely cause negative changes in mood. For many men, depending how low their baseline testosterone levels are, they experience a more stable and improved mood. If you do notice a change in mood, your Wellcore Client Success team is available by text or email to speak with you and make changes to your regimen as needed.

This includes a 2-3 month supply of all testosterone (depending on your dose), 3 month supply of clomiphene, injection supplies, an autoinjector device, follow-up labs, follow-up clinician video consultation, custom storage box, and unlimited access to your Wellcore Client Success Team via text and email.
